| PADI Open Water Course |
| What's involved in the class? Open Water Scuba Class consists of five 3 1/2 hour sessions. Each night of class you'll spend 1 1/2 hours in the instruction room at True Blue. The remaining time will be in our heated, indoor pool. Typically, classes are held from 6pm - 9pm however, once a month we offer a weekend class. After you have completed all the classroom and pool modules, you will be ready for your open water dives. To finalize your certification you will need to complete 4 open water dives. You will be able to complete 2 sessions at a time. Most open water dives take place at Yogi Bear Park in Moss Bluff. Many classes opt to complete their open water dives in Cozumel, Bonaire, Roatan, or Florida. We schedule trips year around. It's your class you decide. |
| The Padi Open Water Diver course teaches student divers the foundational knowledge and skills needed to dive with a buddy, independent of supervision. The Open Water Diver Course centers around three key componets: *Confined Water Dives based on performance-based learning *Knowledge Development *Open Water Dives What do you need to get started? 1. Sign up for an Open Water Scuba class which best fits your schedule. A $100 deposit is required. 2. You will need a "PADI Open Water Crew-Pack" for the class. The Crew-Pack is $79.99 and includes the following: textbook, logbook, C-card, dive tables and 2-Disc DVD set. This is included with the price of you class! You will receive this at the time you place your deposit. 3. You will need your own mask, fins, snorkel, weights and weight belt. True Blue Watersports offers a 10% student discount for all enrolled students. Stop by and be prepared to spend a little time trying on the gear. Your gear is your life-line and worth the time to make sure your are comfortable with its fit. When you purchase these items, you'll also receive $50 OFF of you class!! 4. True Blue will provide you with a Buoyancy compensator, regulator, and tank for all your pool sessions as well as your four open water dives. 5. It is helpful to read over the first couple of chapters in your text so you'll be familar with the terms. |
| How much does it cost? Open Water Certification is $399.
