a part of our Rescue Diver Course
New Class Dates!
Open Water: Nov. 18, 20, 24, 25, Dec. 2 (6-9pm)
Open Water: Dec. 8, 9, 11, 15, 16 (6-9pm)
Weighting:
Many divers struggle to descend at the beginning of the dive
so they over weight themselves. Only to find that once
underwater they are far too heavy.

Equipment and trim:
Well serviced balanced regulators require less effort to suck
in air.  Gear that fits properly and you are familiar with will
allow you to reach neutral buoyancy easier.

Finning technique:
Slowing down your finning speed, using the relaxed “frog
kick, ” and minimizing your arm movement will save you
energy and therefore air.

Breathing Technique:
Slow, deep breaths get the maximum amount of oxygen to
the lungs if the exhale is about the same length of time.

Exercise, relaxation and visualization techniques:
Staying physically fit, relaxing before dives, and visualize the
process of descents and ascents will improve overall air
consumption.
